Inventive use of individual modules forms the foundation for Dagos Twin Housing, yielding its distinctive silhouette. Dragos was conceived, first and foremost, as a simple, modular dual grid comprising a sequence of terraces. The terraced landscape design conforms to the surroundings, and this terraced structure is maintained in the building mass, creating the general architectural character of the building and the landscape. Both terraces that sit on the ground in the building form the open and semi-open recreation spaces overlooking the Marmara Sea view. The landscaping and building are also supported with material decisions. For example, the stone used in the garden was echoed throughout the ceiling structure. The fact that the building is shared by two different user profiles was another important factor. Thus, the building was divided into two autonomous pieces without loss of aesthetic integrity. The angles in which the two parts sit on the ground are differentiated and the necessary privacy ensured. Because of the angular difference, the intervening part has become an area that separates the two parts and provides all the technical needs of the structure. Inside disability access in the terrace and throughout the property make for a warm, accommodating home environment.
